Energy efficient design has always been the cornerstone and overall philosophy of WMA, which has been implemented throughout our work regardless of building type. WMA’s dynamic, performance driven practice with a diverse and contemporary approach has embraced sustainable design and alternative forms of construction since its foundation.
WMA’s specialist skills include NSAI Approved Thermal Modelling and condensation risk (hygrothermal) analysis and in addition, WMA frequently offer expert witness services. Our use of PHPP (Passive House Planning Package) with site specific climate data ensure that buildings are accurately assessed to take account of micro climate conditions relevant to their specific location. Post occupancy monitoring is also carried out to ensure that buildings are performing as expected and to educate the end occupier on the correct use of the building.
WMA are currently engaged as specialist consultants offering advice on both building physics and construction detailing on creche, school, office and healthcare buildings.
WMA’s practical experience backed by our technical expertise in building physics and analysis ensure that we are uniquely positioned to advise, champion and implement sustainable, low energy design objectives and strategies, and to ensure compliance with the upcoming nZEB standard.
