6th in our series ‘Climate impact on Building Performance’ – Meath Farmstead
The 6th in our 8-part series, completed in 2022, this project is a farmstead in Co. Meath with excellent solar access. Optimised for the location, it clearly demonstrates how a project in Meath can travel throughout Ireland! Envelope performance could be considered over-specified for southern coastal locations, confirming our belief that the design of projects should respond to specific climate conditions to meet cost optimal performance levels. Timber framed, clad in charred Douglas Fir, with Cellulose insulation, Gutex and GGBS concrete, the project readily achieved a very low embodied carbon content. BER: A1 (-13.31 kWh/m2.a)
