Pier House achieves Certification

Pier House achieves Certification

We are delighted to announce our latest certified Passive House is our Pier House in West Cork!

Situated in the rugged coastal location of Roaring Water Bay, this 2-storey timber-frame dwelling replaced an existing single storey dwelling. The design aimed to maximise the expansive and spectacular views towards Mount Gabriel and Kilcoe Castle, while creating a comfortable, robust and energy efficient home, that was sympathetic to the local vernacular. Third-party certification was carried out by MosArt, ensuring independent verification of the building’s energy performance, airtightness and construction quality. Its optimised energy efficiency incorporates a simple and cost effective heating and ventilation strategy. This milestone reflects the strong collaboration between client, design team and contractor (Daytona Contractors Ltd.), and reinforces our commitment to delivering high-performance, cost-effective, low-energy buildings with exceptional comfort and resilience.
